The Art Gallery of Northumberland provides a number of art education programs.
Art History Lectures
In this popular series the AGN invites a respected authority on the arts to give a series of 4 or 5 talks, generally held on Monday evenings at the Gallery.
For example, Andrew Gregg gave talks on David Milne and on the Caravaggio exhibition at the National Gallery. James Hunter, from the Visual Arts Centre in Clarington, has spoken on Paul Kane and AGN curator Dorette Carter has spoken on the work of Canadian art pioneer Joyce Weiland.

"On the Road Again" Trips
Periodically the AGN organizes trips to Ontario destinations to view or participate in the arts. In June 2011, the AGN participants visited the National Gallery of Ottawa, to see the outstanding exhibition titled “Caravaggio and his Circle in Rome” showcasing 60 works by or influenced by the Master of Chiaroscuro.

Children's Education
Children's educational programs are scheduled through the year, including March Break and the summer.
Art in the Classroom
The AGN has created art curriculum resource kits. The kits are designed for use in the classroom with non-specialist teachers in mind. See what is currently available.
